Another landmark case in Europe

Following on from the court case that Gandalf detailed below we have another important ruling, this time in regards to free speach.    Charlie Hebdo a satarical left wing magazine published the cartoons in honor of the sacked Editor of a failing French paper that printed them.

The case has been brought by the Grand Mosque of Paris and the Union of French Islamic Organisations, the leader of the Grand Mosque actually admits that it is a mistake, but the Union of French Islamic Organisations is more extreme (at least in its appearance) and is pushing hard for this, with a surprising contributor in President Chirac offering the services of his own private Avocat.    Now why would Mr Chirac do this, there are a couple of reasons based on the story that he is going to live in Morocco, then again it could be to try to keep a lid on the unrest in that the French state as personalised by Mr Chirac is supporting the case, of maybe its a trap to open more peoples eyes to Islam and its effect on free speach.   One just does not know with Chirac.

Philippe Val, the executive editor of the publication, could be fined nearly €22,000 and jailed for up to six months, but I am not totally sure on what grounds the case is being brought, it seems to be a defamation charge , the Guardian said this:

"Two French Muslim organisations, the Great Mosque of Paris and the Union of Islamic Organisations of France, are suing Charlie Hebdo for "public insults against a group of people because they belong to a religion".

French law is very precise and of course the French language is one that thrives on precise definitions, so you  can be certain that the judgement will be decided on a precise definination of the law and not in regards to common sense.

Europe uses codified laws in that everything is defined, often the legislators change the law to fit what they originally intended or to follow certain core values, perhaps it will be changed to allow comments about ideology which is of course possible, if we do lose it will be interesting to see this happen.

One thing is for certain, if the case is lost and we do not see a change in the law immediately after then we will have just lost an important part of our freedoms and should of course treat it as such.

I was also mildly excited by the German case, because even if it was a looney left wing or  Muslim judge, it still makes a couple of impotant points that can be used to open peoples eyes further.

A couple of interesting days in the battle against the PC stupidity of allowing Sharia law precedence over our freedoms...

If the Eurabians needed any more evidence of what the muslims plan to do when they get their majority, then this is it. The muslims are nothing more than an occupying army, so why the hell don't they make a stand? Incredible.

Well good news, it seems that he was acquited on the basis of laws pertaining to freedom of expression, now I just have to work out the basis of that.

One step forward, one backwards, the Indonesians and Qatar are trying to link Israeli Nukes with Iranian nukes and the European diplotraitors at the UN just agreed with that.

This was the headline in the Europe section of the BBC

"A magazine editor accused of insulting Muslims by reprinting cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad is cleared."

I find the use of the word Prophet Muhammed as immensely insulting, he is not my prophet, he is the Muslim prophet, the correct term is the Muslim prophet.

This shows just how infiltrated the BBC is. Now send an email to the BBC and complain about this offensive term which makes it look like this is a prophet for everyone.

The BBC is just amazing at times!!!

I still can not get hold of the exact wording, but this link shows why I was a little concerned because in France nothing is as it seems, especially when it involves the law.
