His courage in the face of almost certain death earned him the Victoria Cross.

Tul Bahadur Pun single-handedly stormed Japanese machine-gun positions during the Second World War.

The Gurkha’s extraordinary act of valour won him royal admirers and he was invited to the Queen’s Coronation and had tea with the Queen Mother.

gurkha Tul Bahadur Pun

Old soldier: 84-year old Tul Bahadur Pun, who earned his VC in Burma on June 23, 1944, after almost all his comrades were wiped out, is being denied entry.

What a completley appalling act, this man fought for our country and many others to maintain the freedoms we now have, he saw his comrades die and suffered privations that you or I cannot imagine.

For this man to be treated in such a way is degrading to me and no doubt to many others in this country.

The attitude shown by the Government to this man is typical of the attitude shown to our present day troops, unless you were one of the fifteen Navy and Marine personnel captured by the Iranians, they were treated as hero's.

This man is ten times the soldier they were, they wimped out and gave up with a wimper, compared to this man they are nothing

So what are we to make of this?
We OWE something to this man. What has our country become?

    His citation reads

In Burma on June 23rd, 1944, a Battalion of the 6th Gurkha Rifles was ordered to attack the Railway Bridge at Mogaung. Immediately the attack developed the enemy opened concentrated and sustained cross fire at close range from a position known as the Red House and from a strong bunker position two hundred yards to the left of it.

So intense was this cross fire that both the leading platoons of 'B' Company, one of which was Rifleman Tulbahadur Pun's, were pinned to the ground and the whole of his Section was wiped out with the exception of himself, the Section commander and one other man. The Section commander immediately led the remaining two men in a charge on the Red House but was at once badly wounded. Rifleman Tulbahadur Pun and his remaining companion continued the charge, but the latter too was immediately wounded.

Rifleman Tulbahadur Pun then seized the Bren Gun, and firing from the hip as he went, continued the charge on this heavily bunkered position alone, in the face of the most shattering concentration of automatic fire, directed straight at him. With the dawn coming up behind him, he presented a perfect target to the Japanese. He had to move for thirty yards over open ground, ankle deep in mud, through shell holes and over fallen trees.

Despite these overwhelming odds, he reached the Red House and closed with the Japanese occupations. He killed three and put five more to flight and captured two light machine guns and much ammunition. He then gave accurate supporting fire from the bunker to the remainder of his platoon which enabled them to reach their objective.

Hundreds of thousands of asylum seekers and illegal immigrants pour in to the country each year and are instantly granted all the benefits, but we have no room for a person awarded a VC, in action against the Japanese. What a shameful decision.

Perhaps Tul Bahadur Pun should have stated that he hates Britain, and was coming to blow himself up in a crowded shopping centre - then he would have been granted admission.

    No, land fit for vermin.
I am ashamed to be British, the cretins that have caused this situation, must be sacked instantly, and all pension benefits withdrawn and named and shamed

Last night on Newsnight Keith Vaz (between giggling) stated that Britain has no problem with immigration and we have the toughest immigration controls in Europe.

We indeed do have some controls over the ones who try to enter by the front door but, alas, no control whatsoever over the back door interlopers.

This man is a British HERO - there is NO higher military award than the Victoria Cross - it even ranks higher than the Queen's Commission - that in and of itself should be reason to be proud to have this brave man live in Britain.

While the courts pander & open up the country's coffers to illegal immigrants, bogus asylum seekers/scroungers and foreign terrorists who offer NOTHING to the UK and its people they dishonour the most prestigious military award in the Country if not the world.

Her Majesty should step in to halt this travesty of justice.

Maybe it is time for the British to start marching in THEIR streets.

This is just typical of this country at the moment. If he wanted to blow us all up, the goverment would welcome him with open arms.

I saw the Keith Vaz interview on u tube and thought of John McEnroe "Man you cannot be serious!" but I think he was.

I wanted to tell him about the Afghan goatherd on the French Coast who was interviewed on Newsnight 2 weeks ago. When asked why he kept trying to get to England he said it was because he had cousins there and they had told him he could get a free education.
Conclusion - Illiterate Afghan goatherds are better briefed than Keith Vaz MP.

PS When Keith Vaz was first elected to parliament as an ethnic MP Private Eye joked that there were people who remembered him when he was white!

Yes no truer word spoken in jest, if he was coming to Britain to destroy our country, strap on explosives etc., then he would be welcomed with open arms, but because he is a war hero he is shunned. This is perhaps the most striking example of why the UK is run by complete morons.
