MUSLIM pupils are being urged to boycott school meals containing meat over fears it may not be halal.
The Lancashire Council of Mosques (LCM) has written to all mosques in the county and urged parents to ensure their children stick to vegetarian options or take a packed lunch.
It came after Lancashire County Council and Blackburn with Darwen Council switched their meat suppliers this month - prompting fears that halal standards might not be met with the new products. County council bosses have responded to the LCM's concerns by taking halal meet off the menus of all its primary and secondary schools until "all parties" were satisfied with the new supplier.
.....The Halal Food Authority (HFA), a voluntary non-profit making organisation launched in 1994 to monitor and regulate red meat and poultry, has approved Clifton Meats' products.
But Salim Mulla, secretary of the Lancashire Council of Mosques, said: "We have suspicions that it may not be halal and that is not just about cross contamination, it is about things like food preparation.
The concept of halal is central to the Islamic religion. In relation to food it means that the meat has been blessed and killed in accordance with Islamic law.
Many schools across the county serve halal dishes alongside their non-halal menu. Mr Mulla said the LCM wanted the meat to be certified by the Halal Monitoring Committee (HMC), rather than the HFA. He said people in the Muslim community had raised doubts with them about the HFA and they way it certified that meat was halal.
Mr Mulla said there would be widespread anger in the Muslim comunity if it was discovered meat which was supplied to schools was not halal.
Mr Khawaja .....suggested that the suppliers in New Zealand were Christians and that might also be a reason for the protest.
A spokesman for Lancashire County Council said it was "vitally important" that the LCM was satisfied with the certification of halal meat used in school meals.
FIRST - When does the UK Muslim community not have its 'knickers in a twist' over some supposed "violation" of their religion?
SECOND - Why should the burden of catering to Muslim dietary restrictions fall onto the already financially strapped schools? If Muslims can "brown bag" their lunches because of unwarranted concerns about halal food during an urged boycott - why not do so permanently?
THIRD - Muslims clearly do not trust each other (never mind the kaffir) as evidenced by the distrust of the Halal Food Authority.
FOURTH - Why should it be "vitally important" that these Muslims be appeased when it is clear that it is IMPOSSIBLE to appease Muslims? - They will not be truly satisfied until their Global Caliphate is complete and the UK & the entire world are under Muslim domination.

To get them to integrate better with non-Muslim students maybe they should eat Charleneburgers, or Kaffir Kebabs, or Curried Christian Child.
Question for Islamic theologians: Does the meat of a pedophile's victim become halal for Muslims if she has her throat cut to the chant of 'Allah Akhbar' in the traditional jihadi manner, or are her remains only suitable for feeding the Kuffar?

In a large French city a Muslim dinner lady was saying to French pupils the pigs can go and eat now which got hoots of derison from the Muslim children, the French complained about this and nothing was done.
I explained to my kids what Halal meat is and hope that they make a fuss if they are served it, it really annoys me that we developed laws to kill animals humanely which then get ignored because of the Muslims.

another protest group bites the dust... where are the "brave" animal libbers on the subject of the ritual slaughter of animals, following rules written over 1300 years ago. if you or i tried to kill animals this way either they'd blow up your granny or the long arm of the law would reach out!
so they join the womens libbers, amnesty(those brave souls who continually put down the democratic west but rarely deal with anyone who might bite back!)and the many others who hate the west.
me, i like animals (especially pigs, which i won't eat as i regard them as sacred, however tasty they may be), so if i want a special diet i pay for it, i don't expect everyone else to supply it for me!
completely fed with whining of muslims, and, no i won't accept a place in gordons cabinet!

your comment made me recall Orwell's 'all animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others'. Therefore, those animals victimised in the West count, those victimised by turd world death cults don't.
You're quite correct to assert that the ALF are probably all wearing his bollocks t-shirts, but I wonder, how would they got on Iran, given the current state sponsored make-over advice offered to Western-style dressed youths???

I saw that post, I am also keeping an eye on the Iranian activities. Did you notice that the NYT then took the Iranian line that they were criminals, but Michelle refuted that with the use of trumped up charges. Its a crime to sell sattelite dishes too, so thats a criminal, lol.
Animal Farm was an excellent book, and your so right on this, Sir HM pointed it out perfectly in his post on his website about murders.
My belief is that because I am a white male my voice is ignored, that is why people such as Michelle Malkin are so important, as they can say what needs to be said and not be tarred as being a racist just because of the colour of her skin like me and you.
I read her blog and Hot Air a lot.

An objection to halal food is that the method of slaughtering is barbaric. However, for me, the great objection is that the animal is killed while pagan invocations are said over it in a foreign language. However much one might argue about whether the slaughtering is humane or not, surely it is unacceptable for one to eat, or be given no choice but to eat, pagan food--as is now increasingly happening in schools, etc.

But you are a Christian, in the PC crowds way of thinking, your the worst and most evil thing on the planet, your faith is to be attacked at every opportunity, and because you don't threaten violence they can make themselves look like they are standing up for secular thought against the threat that you pose. Nice tough Euro elites, dealing with those nasty peace loving Christians.
In your shoes I would feel the same way, I totally agree with where you are coming from though I would perhaps state that your getting a load of mumbo jumbo from a bunch of heretics more like.
