Children told to copy lines from Muslim Call To Prayer - to practise their handwriting
Last updated at 11:40am on 6th August 2007Junior schoolchildren were told to copy lines of a Muslim prayer - for handwriting practice.
The Call To Prayer copied by ten-year-olds at Newlands Primary School in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, included the lines "Allah is the greatest" and "there is no god but Allah".
Angry parent Hayley Clayton told the Sun: "The explanation was that the children were learning about Islam in RE.
"But this was like taking an oath. A Muslim child would never be asked to write a Bible passage."
Her stepson Billy Darbyshire was one of the classmates told by his teacher, deputy head Helen Green, to copy the prayer. "Why didn't she choose a passage from a normal story book to teach handwriting?"
When she pointed out that three of the 7/7 suicide bombers came from Leeds just 15 miles away, Mrs Green acknowleged that it was a "sensitive issue".
"If it's sensitive, why choose that prayer?" she asked.
Billy's dad Martin said there were no Muslims in the class. "I'm not religious but it offended me.
"It must have been worse for children whose parents do have different beliefs."
Wakefield Council officials said they believed the prayer had been written for a Religious Education lesson.

Can you imagine the loud moaning and angry protests if muslim students were told to write a verse from the King James Bible? Or a prayer to Jesus? to practice THEIR "penmanship"?!? I wonder just how much learning about Christianity is going on in RE classes.

I suppose what can we expect when the UK is rife with muslim apologists who insist upon promoting islam as the "religion of peace". The Dhimmi ridden EU bureaucrats, Prime Minister Brown & the MPs have forbidden themselves from discussing muslims and terrorism in the same phrase - which is about as effective as sticking ones fingers in ones ears and screaming " LaLaLaLaLa" when you don't want to hear something. Ignoring or censoring the direct relationship between islam and terrorism will NOT make it disappear.

Muslim extremists have no reason to wage war in the UK when clearly so many multicultural worshipping nitwits are welcoming them with wide open arms and minds.
British parents MUST take a stand and REFUSE to allow their children to be brainwashed by idiotic liberal teachers. The use of this muslim prayer was obviously not accidental. More and more it seems that these teachers, either by directive or on their own, have placed a high priority on indoctrinating our children into the muslim religion.

I am getting severely P'd off with our so called educationalists, what are they doing to our young children, I will tell you, they are prosylizing, they are in the process of embedding Islam into the minds of young children who do not have the information needed to challenge the reasoning or legitimacy of being asked to do such a thing.
This actually is child abuse, taking advantage of innocence.
This "school" did not seek any kind of parental permission for their children to be treated in this way.
Clearly the teacher involved in this blatant prosylization of the young has his or her own agenda and, in my opinion should now be removed from the teaching staff.
Teachers behaving like this have to be exposed and brought to book for their actions and most importantly of all the children who have been exposed to this appalling act need to be made aware that the Koran is NOT the book that represents the Religion of the UK, that book is the Bible

gets worse by the day... and not one major political party appears to have any idea about what is going on. at the moment i'm really happy i don't have kids, cause if i did they'd be pulled from school and i'd be emigrating.
islam is a religion of child abuse and these teachers should be charged as such!

I agree, although I am a muslim that non-muslim child should be made to write muslim call of prayers, but I think that was human mistake that the teacher had done. And she is human. We humans sometimes makes mistakes! that is part of life.
But you lot, you are using any minor excuse to create fear. This is not honest concearn, but xenophoby in the worst form!

You wouldn't know the truth if it bit you on the arse. If a Catholic Priest molests a young child he isn't following the example of Jesus, if a muslim butchers an infidel or rapes a 9 year old, he is following the example of your founder.

Truth , the article is not about Muslim priests or lack thereof but rather about the abuse of the most basic fundamental rights of the child, in addition, to the abuse of trust by a teacher in a UK class room. Far from being a mistake, the religious indoctrination of children amounts to child abuse and that is the way it is and should be, at least, throughout the civilized world. Your claim for xenophobia, is that for want of a better argument or just a bid to silence any discussion or debate on the matter.? Either way, I suggest you grow up and go get a mind to call your own!

And, of course, none of the Eurabia Code actions are being reciprocated in Arab countries. There is no mass immigration of Christians to these countries, they still discriminate against christians and Jews, and Europeans are being indoctrinated with Islamic so called values but they are not being indoctrinated with European values. This is all going to end in tears for Europeans one day, either because of violence and deaths caused by a backlash, or because of the eventual institutionalized dhimmitude and the realisation as to what this actually means. Will the next generation of Europeans have enough "cultural memory" of what it is used to be like, or will it just all be accepted as the way of life?
