MORE than twice as many white people than Asians were stopped and searched by police using anti-terrorism powers in Newham and Tower Hamlets.

This is one of the findings of figures released by police. Covering April to August this year, they show how many people were stopped under the Terrorism Act 2000.

In total there were 799 people stopped and searched in Newham and 2,299 in Tower Hamlets.

The figures have been released by the Metropolitan Police and follow the recommendations of a review about the use of powers under the Terrorism Act.

As well as showing the number of people stopped and searched across London, there are breakdowns for ethnicity, age and gender.

There have been criticisms from community groups that particular sections of the population were being unfairly targeted.

This I cannot work out, why are the people who least fit the profile for being a terrorist being stopped and searched at twice the rate of those people who do fit the profile, is it me, have I missed something here or have I totally lost the plot?.

The clue to this is I think in the last paragraph of this article, it appears that community groups ( thats newspeak for Muslim community) have been saying they have been unfairly targeted.

It would appear, according to moi, that the "impartial" Police have then decided to go out and hit on the white population just to show "equality", this may or may not be correct but its as good a reason as any.

This argument tends to fall apart when you consider Tower Hamlets, over 60% of the population is Muslim so how on earth can you stop and search TWICE as many whites than Asian Muslims, to do this you would probably have to stop and search all the white people in Tower Hamlets.

Maybe I am completely wrong, there could be large numbers of white Non Muslim people who are eager to strap on bomb belts or blow up the Underground system in London or want to see a world Caliphate established but somehow I do not think that is the case.

What do I really think, well I think this has come about out of fear, the Police are frightened to carry out this procedure upon "Asian" people for fear of being branded Institutionally Islamophobic, they have taken the easy way out and picked on white people because then they cannot be accused of anything.

There are white Muslims in the UK but you can spot them a mile away, they are nearly always in full Islamic Dress and have a full beard (and that includes the women).

This kind of PC insanity only increases the risk of another attack because the real suspects are not being monitored or challenged
