'Islamic car' will point towards Mecca

November 11, 2007

Malaysia, Iran and Turkey plan to build an "Islamic car" fitted with a compass pointing to Mecca and a compartment to store prayer scarves and a Koran.

The Malaysian state news agency has reported that automaker Proton's MD Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir said during a visit to Teheran that
Proton has an order to supply 5000 taxis to Teheran

the Iranian initiative would be for global export

This is news to me Since when has Mecca been  magnetic?. I assure you I have checked the date it is not April 1st, this would appear to be for real, well we have had the Batmobile, the Pope Mobile and now it would appear that there is to be a Mecca Mobile.

I cannot help but imagine  many Muslims arriving at the North Pole thinking it to be Mecca.

I know this is a frivolous post but hey we can have some fun can't we.

Where do you store your bombs? Can the back seat comfortably accomodate the driver and a goat? How many wives can you get in the boot? What kind of engine does it have - Dromedary or Bactrian? Can you fit blades to the wheels for driving through Jewish areas?

I think an Islamic car must be painted green, would run in an arc, break down and emit howling noises five times per day. Very likely an Islamic car would just blow up at random, killing and maiming anyone in the vicinity. On the bright side, one need not worry about the interest on the car loan.
