Dumped 'racist' housing strategy could return to East End

A HOUSING strategy dumped for being "racist" in the 1990s could be brought back to prevent the break up of a new generation of families in London's East End.
The Sons and Daughters scheme, which was scrapped almost 20 years ago after a ruling by the Commission for Racial Equality, could return to tackle the growing need for housing in Tower Hamlets.
The controversial policy, originally overseen in Tower Hamlets by the Lib Dems in the late 1980s, gave priority on the housing list to the children of established East End families.
But it caused uproar after Labour politicians classed it as racist, saying it discriminated against new arrivals from the Bangladeshi community.
When it was axed, it contributed to the 'white flight' phenomenon of traditional families moving away from the East End.
But now the influential Young Foundation think tank says scrapping it had devastating consequences for the "long established white working class community."
But almost two decades on, with a dramatically changed population demographic, a 20,000-plus housing waiting list, and, according to the Town Hall, Bangladeshi offspring particularly unable to find homes near their parents, Labour councillors have had a rethink.
A six-month inquiry by the authority's overview and scrutiny committee found offspring in their 20s now had to move far away to find homes, causing problems for the close family network.
A new 'Sons and Daughters' policy could help solve that, the committee said.
But although former Lib Dem councillors have raised an eyebrow at the return of a policy that was once considered racist and illegal, Labour's Alex Heslop, who led the review, denied bringing it back would be hypocritical.
The new policy would be "non-discriminatory" and help "community cohesion", he insisted.
"The residents will tell you they're worried about their children who cannot afford to live in the locality," he said.
"There is demand for the policy, but we are asking for a non-discriminatory policy so there would be some sort of category for sons and daughters.
"It's a sensitive issue. But we think there is the support for it across the community."
He added: "We are saying to the council have a look at it and do some research and make it work."
The old policy discriminated against the Bangladeshi community because rules stated that families had to have lived in the home for 20 years before they could qualify, Cllr Heslop points out.
But former Lib Dem council leader Eric Flounders denied there had been any qualifying limit.
He added: "They got rid of a perfectly good policy at the time because it was politically convenient to shout 'racism'.
"If it was a bad policy then, why's it good now?"

When is a policy non- racist? It is not racist if immigrants groups are favoured.

Muslim families are very large, a single wage earner will find it hard to support all. They will need to supplement this by getting considerable benefits from the state. Thus at a minimum, "some 80% of the Muslim population" subsists on welfare benefits: "A considerable amount of this money to Muslims from the British taxpayer, finds its way to finance the Jihad. The same scenario must hold in all European states that have a considerable Muslim population." "We are in the ridiculous position of sheltering and feeding a population that is hell bent on destroying us. Islam's people, from the very outset, were nothing but a collective to gain plunder and loot at the expense of other people's work. In the past, it was conducted by war, conquest and then pillage. Now it is conducted by immigration (invasion), begging or crime. Meanwhile Muslim nations are given huge loans (aid), which we and they know will never be repaid. Thus, from a purely economic point of view, Islam seems to be a collective of people who live by the ethos of "beg, borrow or steal." So why do we, the capitalist countries, who do not believe in offering anyone a free lunch, subsidise the most lazy yet aggressive bunch of people on God's planet, who are bent on subverting our democratic system? The nub is, how has it come about, that the natural progression of the most advanced civilisation on earth is towards stupidity?"
This is just the financial cost at the low end, without factring in the economic cost of terrorism and crtiminality.
The cultural and social costs are unquantifiable, for they are leading to the destruction of Britain. It is also leading to the death of integrity in public life.
Heaven help us.

If the comments on KV's place are correct - and I believe they are - then it looks like a few of us will be ending our days in unpleasant ways. Well to hell with them because I will NOT shut up and submit. EVER!

Obviously: anything is 'racist' if the basic Human Rights rights of white people are protected and they, the white people, are provided for by their own tax money, and their own government in the countries that the said white people have built from nothing and have fought and died for over hundreds, and often - thousands of years!!
People from non-White races are apparently never 'racists' because an unknown God, some-where-or other, has decreed it so.
Re-introducing the Sons and Daughters policy now that the White Sons and Daughters and Grandsons and Grandaughters no longer live in or near Tower Hamlets is (apparently) not 'Racist' because it penalises White People for being White, and it provides for people of Foreign Race, and Foreign Religion in a land built over 8,ooo years by white people for their own Sons and Daughters for ever and ever. Amen.
Expel all Foreigners from The Scepter'd Isles immediately.
Let them go home to the decrepit lands they left, and work hard and pay their own taxes and establish their own Social Welfare system and Education System.
Send the parasites back to where ever they have emmigrated from. They are not British and have no hereditary right to residence let alone citizenship of the UK.

My comments on the above article:
For centuries the East End of London was home to generations of established British families - the children of these East End families, as they grew up and formed their own families, were given priority in local housing to keep the extended family units together. This positively lent to the stable culture and close knit make-up of the area. BUT - the Labour government lackeys and politicians came in and pronounced the policy, again which had been integral in keeping British families together, as "racist" and discriminated against the muslim Bangladeshi people who had been immigrating into the area by droves -- with Labour's encouragement.
As to be expected, the white British have been nearly eliminated from the area -- being replaced with muslim families. In hind sight, those that attacked and eradicated this British family friendly policy now openly admit that doing so had "devastating consequences on the long established white working class community".
The East End of London, now consists of ever growing larger numbers of muslims and housing is once again a concern (20,000 on waiting list) and muslims are demanding that neighborhood housing be provided for their offspring-- so what does the Labour government, in cahoots with the Liberal Dems, do??? Why they have come up with a new/old "Sons and Daughters" policy - in essence the IDENTICAL policy that had been in effect for the East End indigenous British - and trashed as it was deemed "racist". How quickly these hypocritical politicians talk out of both sides of their mouths.
Clearly in what is a never ending quest to pander to the huge muslim population, these "kind hearted" dhimmi politicians want to insure that the muslim extended families remain intact and thus housing will be given out on a priority basis to the children/family members of muslim families currently residing in the East End/Tower Hamlets area. Undoubtedly keeping the muslim voting base happy is also the goal.
So all those British families who were broken up and scattered about the UK by the disastrous anti-indigenous British housing policies of Labour, and its supporters, are supposed to happily herald the reinstitution of the same policy - to make muslim families happier and enhance "community cohesion". The fact that this policy will lead to the further balkanization of muslims and likely create even larger "no-go" areas for non muslims is apparently of no concern.
Clearly, in the UK, racism is only racism when there is some perceived benefit to the indigenous British people. Racism that discriminates against and excludes the indigenous British population or provides a clear and unfair benefit in favor of the muslim population in Britain is acceptable and encouraged.

The Fabian/labour got their wish whites moved out and their plan can move on. anything to aid the destruction of Britain is ok in their book.
Sir Henry. Blears proposal last week re the 10 million Brits being questioned re- their political stance etc is just another[GOOSE]step in our police state.
