A generation betrayed by NuLabour
The hypocrisy of this Government NEVER ceases to amaze me, the dept of Work and Pensions (DWP) is now saying that the British worker does not have the requisite skills to fill the job vacancies in this country.
Many who read this blog will already know that and what is more they will also know that the reason for this situation is completely down to the Government.
The persistent dumbing down of all educational standards in our schools and universities is well known and it is because of NuLabours concept that everybody - everybody - has to leave school with "a qualification" ,standards have been lowered to enable all students to "pass in something", there are now dozens of useless subjects that students can take exams in - none of these subjects actually prepare a student for work life, after all what use is an A level in Pottery when they cannot do basic arithmetic.
Prior to the revolution in education D was a fail grade, a fail grade is now in the in the F or G range, to fail you have to be really stupid, even then you get a re-sit
Students are not taught subjects so they understand and have knowledge of that subject they are shown how to pass mediocre exams and thus have no depth of knowledge.
Yes our young people are NOT prepared for work life, they have been dumbed down, intentionally dumbed down by this Government, they are indeed a betrayed generation.
This of course works well for the Government because they now claim that immigration is needed because our own people are under skilled or unemployable, they can also claim that this country benefits from immigration.
East European immigrants DON'T take our jobs - because Britons are 'unmotivated and uneducated', Government claims By James Slack
Last updated at 2:58 AM on 12th June 2008
Britons are out of work because too many of them are lazy and unemployable - not because Eastern Europeans have taken their jobs, an explosive Government report claimed last night.
The Department for Work and Pensions said UK citizens were on the dole because of 'issues around basic employability skills, incentives and motivation'.
The arrival of a million Eastern Europeans in the last four years has not damaged wages or led to an increase in unemployment among natives, the study said.
Business leaders agreed with the devastating assessment of Britain's jobless, saying they are suffering from a 'benefits culture'.
They claimed firms had no option but to turn to migrants because people in the UK did not have the skills for the job.
The Conservatives described the Government's conclusion as a 'scandal'.
The DWP's statement was intended to rebut a damaging report from the House of Lords economic affairs committee, which concluded migration had 'little or no' positive economic impact on the UK.

Every child should be awarded 4 A-levels 9 GCSE's and one ASBO at birth so we can save the taxpayers a fortune by closing down the schools and probation service.

Can anyone tell me what is the worst thing about this NuLabour Government?
a) The mess they have made of everything health, defense, education and not least immigration.
b) The lies they tell about their bungling.
c) The fact that they might actually think anyone believes them.

Yes.
The same thing has been going on here in Australia for the past 20 years.
Educational courses have just gotten dumber and dumber - merely a pointless waste of time for those of us in age-groups that were given a decent eduacation.
Now those government and business groups who claim 'To Know' are saying that Australians lack the knowledge and skills base to fill the many thousands of job vacancies (???!!) in the country and so (of course!) we must import thousands of foreign workers (immigrants) from foreign countries and foreign cultures or -you guessed it- the whole of the Australian economy will go down the drain.
Oh. Yes.
Australians, too, are much too lazy and welfare-dependant to want to work in jobs in their own country and earn a decent living to provide for themselves and their families....
BOLLOCKS!
You can't live a decent life on the 'Dole'. You'd need to engage in profitable crime as well to augment your unemployment benefit.
Most Australians who are in receipt of unemployment benefits want a good job: a steady job so that they can plan for their future and provide for their families.
They are quite willing to undertake further education if necessary.
The obstacles placed in front of decent Aussies are deliberately put there by Politicians and Business so that they can justify to themselves the import of cheap uneducated labour form backward countries where the people know nothing of Australian law, Australian society, Australian customs.
And couldn't care less, either!
This is going on in every 'western developed' country in the world.
Oddly, I'm grateful that neither China nor Japan have fallen for this set of Treasonous lies.
It's nice to think that some countries have governments which put their own people first.
Perhaps China and Japan will become our beacon of light.
(Odd, indeed.)

my son used to go out with a girl who was an ex grammar school pupil who attained 2X B's and 1X C at "A" level.
He wanted to see the latest Rambo film and she asked him what the film was about. He informed her it was about a Viet Nam vet. She replied that she didn't like "animal films". She also thought that the Falklands war involved Iran and Iraq. This is NOT a wind-up
