Lord Chief Justice: Sharia Law could have UK role
Lord Chief Justice: Sharia Law could have UK role Jul 3 2008 Media Wales
SHARIA law could play a role in some parts of the legal system, the most senior judge in England and Wales said today.
The Lord Chief Justice, Lord Phillips of Worth Matravers, emphatically ruled out the possibility of sharia courts sitting in this country or deciding penalties but explained comments made by the Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Williams.
But in a speech at the East London Muslim Centre in Whitechapel he said there was no reason why sharia principles could not be used in “mediation or other forms of alternative dispute resolution”.
Sharia – a set of principles governing the way that many Muslims believe one should live one’s life – suffered from “widespread misunderstanding” by the rest of the world, he added.
Lord Phillips said: “There is no reason why sharia principles, or any other religious code, should not be the basis for mediation or other forms of alternative dispute resolution.

Here we have yet another loopy law lord, seriously folks these people really do need to have their heads tested, there should be a psychological profile completed before they are admitted to the Roll of Judges.
To me they are seriously flawed, they will willingly over rule any part of English common law in appeasement of the Muslim lobby.
Firm statements are made such as :The Lord Chief Justice told his audience that severe physical punishments such as flogging, stoning and the cutting off of hands would not be acceptable.
He added: “There can be no question of such courts sitting in this country, or such sanctions being applied here.
“So far as the law is concerned, those who live in this country are governed by English and Welsh law and subject to the jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts.”
Statements such as this are easy to make, the reality may be somewhat different, you cannot cherry pick Sharia law, it comes as a complete package and if a small part of Sharia law is allowed then the rest will surely follow.

I'd bring in flogging, stoning, and amputation for one day. The victim would be the Lord Chief Justice himself

Well thats clever, so assume we use Sharia law for mediation, so a dispute between a infidel and a Muslim, who wins the mediation, the Muslim, because his word is worth more than the infidel.
Now lets try that with two Muslims, one male and one female, ooooops the Muslim male wins, because his word is worth more than the female.
Now that is a really an alternative dispute mediation, loaded to one side only the Muslim male...
Isn't this against discrimination laws, ahhh but hold on a second chaps, its a RELIGION with 1.2bn followers who will chop your bits off or bomb your house if you disagree, its also the fastest growing religion because no one who leaves it dares admit it, so discrimination laws don't apply.
Hate speach laws, so if your a Muslim you can sprout forth the hate speach in the Koran, because it is a holy book that is OK, so I am an infidel, I sprout forth what an Imam quoting the Koran is saying and that is hate speach, well what do you know, well I need some mediation, pass the Sharia quick...
The basic premise of Sharia is based on the superiority of the Muslim male, it is discrimatory, how anyone can use this for mediation is beyond me.
You sir, the Lord Chief Justice, Lord Phillips of Worth Matravers are a complete and utter tosser if you can't work that out!!!

Massoud Shadjareh, chairman of the islamic human rights commission (IS THAT A JOKE?)said mediation under sharia could save the taxpayer hundreds of thousands of pounds.
Two questions......
1) since when did the welfare hungry followers or the R of P care about saving the taxpayer money?
2) if they really cared about saving the taxpayer money, why don't the all,en masse, bugger off to the islamic hell-hole of their choice and leave us in peace?

IMPLICATIONS OF SAUDI FUNDING TO WESTERN ACADEMIC INSTITUTIONS (PART 2 O
MODERN EXPANSION OF DA‘WA
In the West, Christian missionary efforts are operated only by churches and private voluntary organisations, with governments careful not to promote any specific religion. In the Muslim world, because of the Islamic concept of non-separation between religion and state, Muslim states see Islamic mission (Da‘wa) as part of their foreign policy and are willing to found and finance Da‘wa organisations and institutions on a large scale.
Islamic mission is thus not a matter solely for religious institutions as in the West, but for governments and for interstate organisations who organise and fund Da‘wa activities around the world. Da?wa is not limited to Muslim apologetics and efforts at converting individuals, but is very wide in its scope, including efforts at converting whole societies and at establishing Islamic ruled states or enclaves. Like Jihad, Da‘wa is part of the way Islamic states relate to non-Muslim states in their efforts to Islamise the world.
In Saudi Arabia, Da‘wa activity is supervised by the powerful Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Propagation and Guidance. This ministry oversees the Muslim World League (MWL), the International Islamic Relief Organisation (IIRO) and the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY). It funds Islamic outreach activities all over the world, including the organisation of conferences and seminars. It has a vast publishing programme in many languages to propagate Islam, and oversees the operation of many Muslim missionaries (Da‘ees) around the world. [1] It operates the King Fahd Complex for Printing the Qur’an in Medina, which has printed and distributed millions of copies of the Qur’an around the world in Arabic and other languages. The ministry also controls some fifty domestic outreach offices in Saudi Arabia - known as Islamic Propagation Offices, Foreigners Guidance Offices, Da‘wa and Guidance Centres, Cooperative Offices for Call and Guidance - working to convert non-Muslim residents (mainly expatriate workers). [2]
At a gathering of Imams and Da‘ees (Muslim missionaries) in London held at the Saudi Embassy in April 2005,
