Saudi Arabia, a wonderful country where the "king" rules and all of his subjects are happy, well thats the fairy tale folks, the reality is that it is a barbaric state with a veneer of civilization carefully placed for the public view.

In this country(Saudi Arabia) paedophillia is legal, indeed Gary Glitter would be very much at home there if he were an Arab or a Muslim of the Wahhabe variety.

This country allows a 50 year old man to marry an eight (8) year old girl, the young girl did not even know or understand what marriage was, her father arranged the whole affair.

A divorce is now planned, the girls mother is applying for the divorce but the husband is contesting this divorce saying he has done nothing wrong.

This is an eight year old girl who has and still is being abused and this is quite acceptable in this abomination of a country.

I believe that one hallmark of a civilized society is shown in how children are treated within that society, the western world, generally speaking, treats children well yes there are those in the western world who do abuse and ill treat children, Gary Glitter is but one example and these people are rightly seen as perverts of the worst kind and removed from society when ever possible.

Not so in places like Saudi, so why do we as a country give state welcomes to kings who preside over such barbarity, why are they feted and praised when they come here, why do we allow their ambassadors into the UK, why do we even trade with them.

Yes I know the answer is OIL, somehow I cannot help but feel that the UK and other western countries are accessories before and after the fact in blatant child abuse.
