Well here I am back in the UKSR, I am just catching up on things here, it is amazing how much news you do not get in America regarding European issues - especially Islam.

America sees only one threat , Al Qaiida, it sees nothing else, the only Muslim threat is Osama bin laden, yes thre are some in the US that see the Islamic threat but very few.

This mindset is typified by Obama's latest speech in Turkey where he praises Islam and sees only benefit in Turkey joining the EU.

It is all well and good for Obama to say this, it is not America that will have its land flooded with yet more Muslims who only want to create a global ummah

Obama said: "

Mr Obama devoted much of his speech to calling for a greater bond between Americans and Muslims, admitting that "the trust that binds us has been strained".

"Let me say this as clearly as I can: the United States is not and will never be at war with Islam," he stated.

Mr Obama's remarks were welcomed by Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan

"In fact, our partnership with the Muslim world is critical in rolling back a fringe ideology that people of all faiths reject."

He said: "The United States has been enriched by Muslim Americans. Many other Americans have Muslims in their family, or have lived in a Muslim-majority country - I know, because I am one of them."

Well there you have it, Mr Obama seems to miss the point, he may say the US is not at war with Islam but what he should add is that Islam is at war with the US and the rest of the western world, failure to recognise this point is a serious mistake.

I listened to his speech, in his speech he said" America is not a Christian country" , (this is not reported on the BBC site) Mr Obama should go south of the Mason Dixon line and say that, I think he would have a big shock with the response he would get.

We must not forget that the foundations of the nation are strongly based upon Christianity, not only were the founding fathers Christian but so were the pilgrim fathers who landed at Plymouth rock in the Mayflower.

Well what else could we expect from Mr Obama after all as he says he knows "because he is one of them"
