Britain Must Remove Itself From the EU - or face annihilation
An excellent read.
The EU's response to the Iran elections shows their blatent hypocrisy. It is imperative that Britain removes itself from the clutches of the tyrannical EUocrats - or face annihilation.
WITH their usual brazen hypocrisy, the leaders of the European Union have been wailing about the democratic crisis in Iran.
They have expressed their “concern” about “irregularities” in the recent elections, and “condemned” the reaction of the ruling authorities against protestors demanding reform.
Yet these are the same politicians who have taken a battering ram to European democracy in their determination to build a federal superstate.
Obsessed with strengthening the power of the EU’s unaccountable elite, they have systematically ignored the will of the people, ruthlessly trampling over national rights and local freedoms.
Like the mullahs of Iran, the eurocrats simply ignore election results which do not suit them.
That is certainly what happened over the recent EU Constitution, drawn up in 2004 to accelerate the process of political integration and establish an EU Presidency.
When the Dutch and French voted against the Constitution, that should have been the end of it. But the EU’s leaders are utterly disdainful of the public.
After a summit in Portugal, they just changed the name of their scheme to the Treaty of Lisbon, though it was virtually the same document as the Constitution. The Lisbon Treaty was then ratified by almost all the 26 member states without any referenda, even in Britain, where Labour broke its pledge to give the public a vote.
In Ireland, however, the government was legally bound to hold a referendum. Last year, by a significant majority, the people of Ireland rejected the Lisbon Treaty. Yet again, the Euro-zealots refused to abide by the outcome
Instead, after another round of EU talks last week, Ireland has been ordered to keep on voting until the despots of Brussels get the result they want. It is now expected that a second Irish referendum will take place in October.
Without a shred of legitimacy, the drive towards a United States of Europe is relentless. The only way any country can regain its independence is by leaving the EU. Renegotiations, opt-outs and protocols are all useless in the face of this sinister bureaucracy bent on absolute control.
Continued submission to Brussels amounts to a form of national treachery. But then the instinct for treachery is one of the Labour’s most profound characteristics.
The desire to destroy our traditional nationhood through the promotion of mass immigration, multicultural diversity and surrender to the EU has been a key theme of this Government ever since 1997.
The same impulse also explains why Lord Mandelson, Euro-fanatic and former Brussels commissioner, has been so desperate to keep Brown in power, even though he and the Prime Minister have been bitter enemies for more than a decade.
Mandelson feared that if Brown was forced out in a coup by the Cabinet, then a new Labour leader would quickly have to call a general election.
Given the state of current opinion polls, such an election would be a probable triumph for David Cameron. An incoming Tory government, which stuck to its promise to hold a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty, could derail the whole integrationist project long before Ireland had even voted a second time. So, in the cynical Mandelson Euro-federalist agenda, it is best to keep propping up Gordon Brown, at least until the Lisbon Treaty can be implemented.
Once the treaty is brought in, the EU will have its own President and the front-runner for the post is none other than Tony Blair. This is another reason why Mandelson, Blair’s closest political ally, is so keen for Lisbon to be ratified as soon as possible.
Yet the elevation of the discredited Blair to such a position, without any vote by the public, would not only be a democratic outrage, it would also highlight the way that the EU is such a lucrative gravy train for the political class.
Only last week, it emerged that Neil and Glenys Kinnock have made over £10million from exploiting the EU. Blair, with the cash-fixated Cherie at his side, will do even better.
But the elite’s enthusiasm for the EU is motivated by more than just self-interest. The real driving force is the eurocrats’ instinctive loathing for any notion of patriotism. In the Fifties, this was partly a legacy of the war, though there is something ironic about the political class’s faith in the EU as the answer to Nazism, given that Hitler derided other nations’ independence and wanted to see a united Europe under the control of an unelected elite.
Since the Sixties, the post-war fear of Germany has been superseded by a Left-wing, neo-Marxist hatred for any expression of national identity. Like the Soviet Union, our rulers in Brussels want absolute subservience. At a political level this means breaking up nations into regions and reducing national governments to the status of municipalities.
At the same time, the EU itself is now taking on the trappings of nationhood, with its own Parliament, laws, currency, execu-tive, flag and, if Lisbon is ratified, Presidency and Foreign Office. On a demographic level, the populations of Europe have been deliberately transformed by mass immigration and the destruction of our borders.
The nation state is the greatest vehicle for upholding democracy yet devised by man. Under the EU’s tyranny, both nationhood and democracy are now dying. We have to escape the clutches of Brussels before it is too late.
