MASS VOICES AGAINST DEMOCRACY

Well what an uproar the Swiss have caused all because they have said no to minarets in their country - something they have every right to do.

Voices from around the globe have been raised showing contempt for this little very peaceful country. Here are just a few of them, you can read them if you wish but the titles say it all :-

My compatriots' vote to ban minarets is fuelled by fear | Tariq Ramadan

'Swiss show 'hatred' for Muslims'

Swiss imam urges calm after minaret vote

Ban Stuns Swiss Muslims, Calm Urged

Pan-European Islamic group condemns Swiss minaret referendum

Swiss-Muslim relations strained over minaret ban

Muslim body deplore Swiss minaret ban

Switzerland’s Fascists Invite Fanatical Muslims To Help With Assisted Suicide Project

Intolerance of Islam

There are many more but I am sure you get the jist of what is happening, the global " you must not offend Muslims" brigade have really got a bee in their bonnet, how dare somebody, let alone a country do anything that is not pro Islamic.

Should we in this country be so lucky as to have the opportunity for such a referendum, if that did happen then the percentage for banning Islam would be up in the eighties - this is the main reason we will never get such an opportunity The Swiss minaret result explains why they'll never allow democracy in Britain

The above linked article states that Europe will support Switzerland, that maybe so but I do not think the EU will.

Switzerland is now receiving veiled threats, the appeals for calm in the Muslim communities and countries is how these threats are delivered,   the appeals clearly denote a knowledge that violence will happen - if there is no chance of violence why appeal against it?

Be careful Switzerland, be proud of what you have done, you must now prepare to defend because the attack of Islam in your country will now enter a second stage and Swiss blood maybe spilled.

Has the muslim boycott of Swiss goods begun? I'd like to buy a Rolex in support, but I've still got my Danish Skagen watch (best watch I've ever owned) after the cartoon boycott.
Apart from that I'm skint so I'll have to settle for a Toblerone.

Muslims should keep calm. Switzerland is the most heavily armed country in the world.

There is no recognition that maybe Muslims have something to answer for, that Islam appears as a blot on the the beautiful Swiss mountains, that Muslims have failed to convey the love and peace of Islam and Allah to the Swiss, that they should humbly reflect on that failure and perhaps change their ways.

No quite the opposite; the fault lies with the Swiss, and they issue veiled, and not-so-veiled, threats.

In reply to this I think it would be wise if muslims learned a few well chosen Swiss swear words, and took heed. This word I think is particularly appropriate it is Oerlikon:

THIS POST ABOUT THE SWISS POLICY ON IMMIGRATION FROM THE USUALLY BIASED TIMES REPORT IS WORTH READING.

In all fairness, the muslims living in Switzerland are almost all accidental refugees from the former Yugoslavia. Most of them had already been working in Switzerland at the time Yugoslavia fell apart and civil war started there.

The Swiss immigration laws are very strict, they don't just let folks in that easily. They have several layers of work permits each one with slightly more entitlements. Most guest workers start at the bottom of the work permit tower. If you work there long enough without causing any trouble you may be able to upgrade your work permit. Many, many years later you may be able to get a permanent resident permit. Even many many more years later you may be able to apply and be granted citizenship.

The Swiss take great care not to let anybody get any entitlements or false hopes. For example, while you work there, they pay into the Swiss social security insurance for you. This money is kept separate from social security insurance of citizens. Should you ever leave the country, the Swiss will pay you the accumulated money, or they will send it to the social security in the country you return to. They do not want anybody to be able to say "Hey, but I paid all this insurance, you cannot just send me back".

When I was working in Basel and went to the home office to get my work permit renewed, I found myself in a small locked booth in front of the counter where my case was handled. If there is anything wrong with your papers and they want to detain you, you have no chance of running away because the booth you're in is locked. They get the police and have you detained.

As a result of this policy, you wont find any non-nationals living in Switzerland who are not welcome there. You won't find troublemakers or hardline islamists. Those would have been made to leave the country already. They are no longer there. The muslims who live and work in Switzerland live there because they comply with Swiss norms. It would be very unfair to bla
